This modernist sculpture, titled Strolling Woman by artist Larry Young, features an abstracted female form carved from highly polished pink marble. The piece is a study in mid-century biomorphic abstraction, characterized by an elongated, fluid silhouette, stylized anatomical features, and a sweeping, cowl-like headpiece. The stone surface is finished to a high gloss, revealing natural mineral mottling and inclusions throughout the peach-toned material. The figure is set upon a square, textured travertine plinth, which is supported by a separate, tall hexagonal pedestal. The pedestal is constructed from panels of banded travertine or onyx, displaying horizontal sedimentary layers in shades of beige and cream. Marked on base 2/5 and with partial view of signature.
