Lapis lazuli - Druidic cross - Tree of Life (World Tree)...

Collier decorated with a large druidic cross representing a Tree of Life (World Tree). Forces of nature and harmony. Symbol of protection. The tree of life: this fascinating being, living yet seemingly immutable, links heaven and earth. It towers over humans, nourishes, protects, and has always allowed them to make the tools needed for survival. Whether in representations of Assyrian, Egyptian, Maya civilizations or Celtic, the tree of life is, according to cultures, the pillar of the world, the central axis that unites sky and earth, or the tree-world. From its roots to the tip of its highest leaves, the tree by its very nature speaks to people who are always seeking meaning and symbols. Pillar of the world, the World Tree of the Egyptians supports the celestial vault with the help of its branches. The Maya, a pre-Columbian culture, also represented the tree of the world connecting the sky, the earth, and the underworld. Among the Maya, this tree began to grow at the moment of the world’s creation. The creator emerged from the tree in four directions: north, south, east and west. On the Maya tree of life one sees a cross in the center which represents the source of all creation. In Kabbalah of the Jewish faith, the tree of life is associated with symbolism that is both very strong and complex. Among the Celts, there is talk of the world tree; for them every tree is the ancestor of a human being. It is the most powerful representation of the forces of nature and the harmony that unites them.
