Lanvin Paris – Vintage silk carré – 100% silk – Made in Italy – 84 × 84 cm Wonderful and particularly decorative vintage silk carré from the French fashion house Lanvin Paris, executed in a distinctly luxurious design that blends classic French elegance with a touch of extravagance. The scarf has a deep black and charcoal base with a subtle leopard motif, richly adorned with golden-yellow Baroque ornaments, stylised flowers, graceful acanthus scrolls, braid motifs and refined pink/old-pink tassel details. The black central section and the dark satin border create a strong contrast with the warm gold tones. In one corner the design features the LANVIN PARIS signature. Also attached to the scarf is the original textile label with the designation: “100% SETA – SOIE / REINE SEIDE / ALL SILK / MADE IN ITALY” This confirms that the carré is entirely made of 100% silk and produced in Italy. Based on the execution, the design and the type of material label, the scarf can be cautiously dated to the vintage period, probably circa the 1980s–1990s. With its generous size of 84 × 84 cm, this is a classic carré that can be worn in various ways, but also particularly decorative as a collectible or framed fashion object due to its rich graphic design.
