This fascinating living-room lamp, working and in the Gone with the Wind style, dating from roughly 1890 to 1910 in the late Victorian and Art Nouveau periods, is presented in good overall condition with its imposing anti-magnetic metal structure showing only slight, natural nicks on the superficial black lacquer. The original white opal glass lampshade is completely intact and free of cracks, with the only structural modification being the functional electrification carried out in the second half of the twentieth century. The piece’s origin lies in refined French craftsmanship, famed for the lacquered metal technique decorated by hand with floral motifs and gold highlights in an Oriental taste, or in American production, homeland of this specific and majestic table-form silhouette. To ensure the object’s safety during transport, the ideal shipping method is an express courier.
