Lalique France - "Hirondelle" Crystal Swallow Bookend Elegant Lalique "Hirondelle" swallow bookend in clear and satin-finished crystal, signed "Lalique France" on the base. The Hirondelle design originated in 1942. This specimen is a later Lalique production, roughly dating from the 1960s-1970s. The sculpture depicts a swallow in flight, with finely modeled wings and plumage. The combination of polished clear crystal and satin-finished surfaces beautifully emphasizes the sculptural form and movement of the bird.
