Magnificent and rare vase from the famous Lalique house, model “Filicaria,” created in 1990 by Marie-Claude Lalique (1935-2003), granddaughter of René Lalique. This model is produced in several colors, and here is a superb ruby red color that sublime this vase, a rare color and therefore more sought-after. Description of the vase: This piece is distinguished by its rounded shape and its flattened and bulging belly, giving it a particularly sculptural silhouette. Its opening is slightly curved and its contour regular with a perfectly controlled form. * The vase is made of molded crystal, in a remarkable translucent red coloration, showing rich nuances ranging from ruby red to garnet red, with particularly bright red-orange tones at the center of the belly. The thicker parts of the crystal, especially on the rims and at the base, take on a deeper red, creating a magnificent play of transparency and depth. * The entire surface is adorned with an embossed vegetal decor, composed of numerous leaves and fronds that intertwine and harmoniously envelope the belly. The motif mainly evokes ferns, in reference to the name Filicaria. The leaves are delicately modeled in the crystal and their relief catches the light differently depending on the viewing angle. * The contrast between the deep red of the crystal, its transparency, and the relief of the foliage gives this piece a particularly refined presence. The vegetal decor perfectly follows the rounded shape of the vase, creating a real sense of movement around the piece. Created in 1990 by Marie-Claude Lalique, this model belongs to Lalique’s production at the end of the 20th century. It perpetuates one of Lalique’s great aesthetic signatures: transforming motifs from nature into sculptural forms in crystal. The piece still bears the “Lalique Paris” label and also carries the engraved signature “Lalique France,” visible in the photographs. With its 12 cm height and 12 cm width, this vase is a fine collectible, compact enough to be showcased on a console, a bookshelf, a coffee table, or a small side table. Its red color also allows it to find an easy place in different interior styles: Art Deco, Neo-Art Deco, contemporary, vintage chic, or classic decoration, particularly when paired with dark wood, brass, marble, or neutral tones. The 7th photo will help you visualize a contemporary chic / modern classic interior, with an Art Deco influence. This vase is a piece that is now hard to find, especially in such beautiful condition, particularly sought-after by Lalique crystal collectors, art glass enthusiasts, and interior designers. History of Lalique: A revolutionary artist, renowned jeweler of the belle Époque, favorite of Sarah Bernhardt, admired by Gallé, René Lalique aroused extraordinary enthusiasm around the world, nicknamed the “Rodin of transparency” by Maurice Rostand. Lalique created timeless and graceful art with resounding success. An exceptional jeweler and grand master of glass, René Lalique is among the great creators of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Since 1921, the Alsace-based manufactory, a glassmaking region, has perpetuated artisanal know-how. The hand of man, artist-craftsman of matter, marks objects with his imprint, giving them this force, this presence that is almost immaterial—a true know-how. Marc Lalique, son of the great creator, will take up the torch, then it will be his sister Marie-Claude Lalique; today both are deceased. But Lalique’s style remained what René Lalique had created. The tradition continues. The Lalique style is born from the artist’s gesture, sketching a drawing in total harmony with the material, a style recognizable by the manual shaping of pieces and decorations, like sculpture, in the richness of representational decor, in finishes that give this characteristic contrast of clear and satin crystal. Nourished by the creativity of a lineage of extraordinary artists, the Lalique universe is rich in know-how spanning tableware to decoration, jewelry to perfumes. mileudusicècle #glass collection #verrerie de luxe #luxury glass #Modern Regency #Hollywood Regency #régence moderne #Ren2lalique #luxury #flore Marie-Claude Lalique, Lalique, Filicaria, Vase, Vase Filicaria, René Lalique, vase en cristal Lalique
