MARC LALIQUE (1900-1977) "Two Fish" – Model created in 1953 Signed and numbered Important sculpture in colorless molded-pressed crystal, satin-finished and re-polished, depicting two carp leaping from the waves in an ascending, remarkably fluid motion. Inspired by the aquatic theme dear to the Maison Lalique, this masterful composition illustrates the exceptional know-how of the manufactory in crystal work and mastery of light effects. The two fish, finely chiseled, rise in an elegant symmetrical motion evoking abundance, prosperity and harmony. The subtle contrast between the satinized and re-polished parts animates the sculpture with a luminous presence particularly spectacular, characteristic of Marc Lalique’s most emblematic creations. Always produced by the Maison Lalique, this model is one of the most sought-after animal sculptures in the contemporary production of the French manufacture. Signed “Lalique France” at the base. Kept in remarkably pristine condition, new, this work comes with its original Lalique box. Dimensions: H. 28.6 cm; W. 26.1 cm; D. 13.9 cm.
