La Murrina – Lote de 8 Frutas de Cristal de Murano...

La Murrina – Lot of 8 Vintage Murano Crystal Fruit Pieces | Discontinued | Tutti Frutti | Traditional Hand-Blown Craft (1970-1980) This Tutti Frutti Murano crystal composition creates an elegant and cheerful set where the richness of colors, the play of transparencies, and the uniqueness of the shapes make it an attractive decorative piece. La Murrina crystal holds a prominent place in Italian decorative design. Its international recognition is linked to the quality of its creations, to the tradition of Murano’s artistic glass, and to the work of its master glassmakers, whose mastery of artisanal techniques allows transforming crystal into unique objects of high artistic value. DESCRIPTION: The collection brings together eight fruit pieces, six signed by La Murrina and two unsigned. The six pieces identified with the brand correspond to discontinued models that form part of the brand’s historical archive. In these small decorative sculptures, glass-making technique and design sensibility unite to turn a everyday motif into an object of artistic expression. The way light passes through or reflects off the crystal is an essential part of their appeal. The color variety allows for different optical responses of the glass: from luminous transparency to the denser, saturated tones. Exhibited together, they form a Tutti Frutti composition of notable presence, while individually they retain their identity as small decorative sculptures. LOT COMPOSITION OF 8 PIECES, MARKING AND DIMENSIONS SIX DISCONTINUED PIECES SIGNED LA MURRINA of particular interest to lovers of Italian artistic glass. Each La Murrina fruit is a mouth-blown sculpture by a Master glassmaker in Murano. The firma artisans of the company master historically complex procedures dating back to the 13th century. • 1 pear, marked “La Murrina” on the base. Approx. Dimensions: Maximum diameter: 5.5 cm / Height: 5 cm / Total height with leaf: 8 cm • 1 red apple, marked “La Murrina” on the base. Approx. Dimensions: Maximum diameter 5.5 cm / Height: 7.5 cm / Total height with leaf: 11.5 cm • 1 cluster of amber-colored grapes, marked “La Murrina” on a leaf. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 9 cm / Width: 8 cm / Depth: 2 cm • 1 cluster of cobalt blue grapes marked “La Murrina” on a leaf: the contrast between the bright translucent blue grapes and the matte velvety finish provides depth and chromatic richness, enhanced by the lime green leaf. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 15 cm / Width: 5 cm / Depth: 4 cm • 1 cluster of turquoise blue grapes, marked “La Murrina” on a leaf. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 9 cm / Length with leaf: 12 cm / Width: 7 cm / Depth: 4 cm • 1 cluster of light blue grapes, marked “La Murrina” on a leaf. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 8 cm / Width: 5 cm / Depth: 2 cm TWO UNSIGNED MURANO GLASS PIECES • 1 grape cluster combining crystalline grapes and others in opaline white creating a delicate contrast between transparency and light diffusion, with a luminous and ethereal effect that highlights the purity of the crystal. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 16 cm / Width: 6.5 cm / Depth: 4 cm • 1 cluster of red crystal cherries accented with three green leaves. Approx. Dimensions: Length: 6 cm / Width: 8 cm / Height: 6 cm (leaves not extended) Until the first half of the 1970s, Murano glass producers did not usually sign their objects, with few exceptions, and even then the signatures were not routinely used. In general, early La Murrina glass did not bear permanent marks. Many documented pieces from the late 1960s and 1970s do not show the later La Murrina signature that appears in more recent productions. Therefore, its absence does not necessarily indicate that an unsigned La Murrina piece was created by another company; that said, I prefer transparency and will not attribute them, because the quality speaks for itself. CONDITION: Excellent state of preservation. ADDITIONAL NOTES: • The photographs are part of the description. • The indicated measurements and weight correspond to the configuration of secure packaging, essential to ensure proper protection of the pieces during transport.
