Kunisada, Two Kabuki Woodblock Prints, 1850s Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) (Japanese, 1786-1864). "Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Jitsumu Shonin Jiraiya Holding a Compass" from the play "Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari", 1852, ukiyo-e color and ink woodblock print on paper, signed in plate. "Yamabayashi Bohachi" from the play "Nanso Satomi Hakkenden" (The Chronicles of the Eight Dog Heroes of the Satomi Clan), circa 1855, ukiyo-e color and ink woodblock print on paper, signed in plate. Both framed. Approximate dimensions: "Ichikawa Danjuro VIII ": Sight: 13 3/4 x 9 1/4 in. (34.9 x 23.5 cm.) Frame (without hardware): 20 5/8 x 16 1/8 x 1/4 in. (52.4 x 41 x 0.6 cm.)
