The set bears the German crescent moon and crown sterling hallmark, the 925 fineness mark and the standing lion maker's mark of Gebrüder Kühn, guaranteeing solid sterling silver. The design is a refined interpretation of the late Art Deco / early Modernist style. The smooth, rounded bodies contrast beautifully with the finely hand-finished vertical fluting around the lower section, creating an elegant play of light and reflections. The geometric angular handles, stepped bases and restrained decoration are characteristic of high-quality German silver design from the interwar period. Founded in 1860 by Johann Stanislaus Nepomuk Kühn, the company developed into one of Germany's leading silversmiths.
