Biography: Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymath artist whose creativity has evolved from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers at a very young age his first passion: music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: to invest the money destined to finance his higher education into creating his first album. Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a career rich in experimentation. Parallel to his music career, Kobalt enters the advertising world as a designer/copywriter for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he leverages his creativity for the publication by creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns. The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit. In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, inspired by his son, who has become a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date. His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reworking magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.
