Kirsty Wain (XX) - Jacaranda Tree, Marbella, Andalusia - No Reserve

Artist: Kirsty Wain Capturing the sun-drenched atmosphere of southern Spain, Jacaranda Tree, Marbella, Andalusia is a vibrant impressionistic landscape created during the artist’s period of residence in Marbella. Painted en plein air / from life during her time living on the Costa del Sol, the work celebrates the sudden, luminous bloom that transforms the Andalusian countryside each spring. The composition is anchored by the gnarled, twisting trunks of two central jacaranda trees, rendered in deep indigo and warm umber line-work that underscores their architectural forms. Wain builds the canopy with expressive washes of rich violet and lavender, interspersed with delicate foliage and seed pods that lend organic texture to the crown. Deeply connected to the Mediterranean landscape, her work offers an expressive, emotive interpretation of the surrounding environment. Drawing strong inspiration from Post-Impressionism and the bold colour theory of Fauvism, Wain uses vibrant hues, textured application, and fluid line work to capture the intrinsic energy, spirit, and light of a location. Her paintings, frequently focused on ancient olive groves, hillside pines, and sweeping terrains—seek to translate fleeting personal moments and deep emotional ties to place directly onto the canvas. Wain’s distinct visual language continues to gain international visibility, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world. ´ I love colour. I love nature. I love art. Together, they are my language. ´ K Wain 2025 Artist Profile & Education Background: British contemporary landscape painter based in Spain, combining her artistic practice with a long-standing career in art education.
