Dimensions: Height: 27 cm Diameter: 14 cm Opening at the top 6 cm Base: 7 cm Weight: 1019 g Decor nr: 1847 Form nr: 806 Overall condition: very good, with no cracks or chips. Elegant, globular vase of finely glazed earthenware, designed by Charles Catteau for the Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière – an iconic example of European Art Deco design. . This model, designated with reference number D1847, features a rich, stylized floral decoration that is characteristic of Catteau’s language of form: geometric flowers, elongated foliage and plant motifs, rhythmically outlined in dark brown. The color palette harmoniously combines deep green, ochre, yellow and brown tones against a creamy background with a subtle craquelé effect; a refined contrast typical of Keramis creations from the 1925-1935 period. The perfectly balanced, egg-shaped body is accented by a cylindrical neck with a dark brown glaze. The decoration runs over the entire surface of the vase, creating a particularly decorative, panoramic effect. At the bottom are the reference number D1847 and the Keramis factory marks. This model is included in the documentation on Charles Catteau’s oeuvre.
