Keith Murray for Wedgwood Art Deco Moonstone Glaze Faceted Tankard

This ceramic tankard was designed by Keith Murray for Wedgwood during the Art Deco period. The vessel is constructed of creamware and features a tall, faceted octagonal form set upon a flared circular foot. It is finished in a uniform monochrome cream-colored glaze, a signature finish of the period known as Moonstone. A large, flat-sided D-shaped handle is attached to the side. The underside of the base bears a green printed mark featuring the facsimile signature of designer Keith Murray above the manufacturer mark for Wedgwood and the text Made in England. Several collection and auction labels are present on the base, including a gray Rubin Collection sticker, a white Skinner auction label with the numbers 2532 and 45(4), and a yellow inventory sticker marked 139182 31.
