This work is delivered with its velvet embroidered cover, signed KARL LAGASSE, artisanally made in Normandy. • Details: Signed and numbered artwork. • Edition: Limited series, numbered copies from 01 to 33. • Authenticity: Supplied with the official authenticity certificate from the artist. • Shipping: The artwork will be sent with a random number, subject to stock availability. Delivery information: You will receive our shipments, both domestic and international, exclusively via DHL Express, our logistics partner. The works are shipped from the artist based in the United States to our logistics platform in France, which handles import and customs clearance, before returning them individually to our collectors without any constraint. The transportation cost includes all fees from the United States to your home. IMPORTANT: NEVER accept a damaged package without opening and inspecting it. If the work is damaged, you must refuse delivery and state the reason for the refusal on the delivery note, noting issues such as “broken,” “scratched,” “damaged,” or “creased.” If only the packaging is damaged but the contents are intact, you may accept the package. Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained prominence in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the ten best sculptors under 30 years old according to Artprice that same year. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the French President warmly congratulated Karl for his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais. Karl Lagasse’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, spurred by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He then turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris Metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot Gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin. 2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist. 2025: - installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8. 2024: - Art Miami - Collectors Gallery Nicolas Auvray New York collective exhibitions. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event. - 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival, for which the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. The artists interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison... 2023: - Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar in front of the St Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article. - Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St. Regis edition One Dollar. 2022: - New York: Times Square NY City, projection on Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.” - Presentation of American Film Festival trophies to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas… 2021: - New studio in Austin, Texas, United States. - Solo exhibition of the artist. - Finalization of the sculpture “Ascension of Christ” after several years of work. - Casting at Fonderia Del Chiaro (Italy) Pietrasanta. 2020: - Start of work on the largest piece ever created by the artist: the One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters. - Deauville American Film Festival: he creates a new sculpture in collaboration with the city of Deauville, inspired by the barriers of the Deauville boardwalk (the planks). 2019: - Deauville American Film Festival: the artist created a new sculpture, representing his dollar engraved in aluminum. - The artists who received the work that year include: Johnny Depp, Sophie Turner, Pierce Brosnan, Geena Davis... 2018: - Creation of a new sculpture for the Deauville American Film Festival trophy; among the artists who received the artist’s trophy sculpture are: Morgan Freeman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Elle Fanning, Jason Clarke and many others... - Collective exhibitions Galerie Art Expo. - Several One Dollar sculptures by the artist exhibited inside the Royal Monceau Hotel. - The artist painted a monumental work on a 54-meter wall, Psalm 4, at the Street Art Museum in Brussels. 2017: - Karl Lagasse succeeds prestigious Cartier in creating Deauville American Film Festival trophies. 2016: - Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais - A two-meter-high “One Dollar,” fully bronze, was exhibited at the Art Paris fair. - The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work. - First time in Spain at Marbella’s Atrium Gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire. 2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation entitled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s largest debt. - Art Paris - Galerie Michel Vidal 2014: - Maserati presents worldwide the Maserati Ghibli redesigned by the artist Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary. - Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador to France organized a dinner in his presence, around the artist’s works. 2013: - Collective exhibition Automobile Club of France, Place de la Concorde, Paris. 2012: - Karl gave the city of Deauville a bronze Crytogram One sculpture, permanently at the city entrance. - For the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” composed of a collage of photos tracing the festival’s highlights.
