Kazak carpets are characterized by their geometric patterns and are largely inspired by older Russian and Caucasian rug patterns. Today these carpets are manufactured in Pakistan and sold under the name "Kazak". The newer carpets produced after 1925 have a cotton warp instead of a wool warp and tend to have fewer and simpler patterns than the older ones. The carpets are quite durable and a popular choice among interior designers. The timeless elegance and the vibrant colors of Kazak carpets create a strong contrast to minimalist and neutral design concepts. Kazak carpets are stonewashed to give them a natural sheen, and they shine like jewels on the floor. The short pile makes these carpets easy to keep clean. Name of rug : Antique Kazak Manufacture: Hand-knotted Origin: Azerbaijan Condition: see pictures Age : about 100 years Thickness : 8 mm
