Jugendstil Floor tile (445) - palmette motif - Tegeltapijt - Ca

Rare 19th Century Cement Tile Carpet - Neoclassical Star & Palmette Motif from a Townhouse in Amsterdam-Zuidoost - 13.63 m2 (445 pieces) Description: An extremely rare and authentic batch of 19th-century cement/motif tiles, carefully dismantled from a stately townhouse in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. This complete and characterful 'tile carpet' is distinguished by the refined Neoclassical/Jugendstil decor with a geometric star motif in soft blue, ochre yellow, cream and brown. The set is complete with the accompanying borders (palmette motif) and corner pieces, enabling a historically framed floor field to be laid. Application & Aesthetic: A unique opportunity for architects, restorers and enthusiasts of historic interiors. Ideal for creating a focal point in an entrance, hallway, kitchen, bathroom or hospitality interior (such as the cladding of a bar or counter). Even in larger spaces, beautifully combined as an inlaid 'tile carpet' surrounded by poured concrete floors, parquet or neutral modern tiles. Tile specifications: Size per tile: 17.5 × 17.5 cm Thickness: approx. 2 cm Weight: approx. 1.6 kg per tile Composition of the batch (445 pieces total): Intact tiles (401 pieces / 12.28 m2): 340 × field tiles with star motif 59 × border / edge tiles with palmette motif 2 × original corner tiles Fit-and-cut tiles with light edge/chip damage (44 pieces / 1.35 m2): 30 × field tiles with minor damage/one corner missing 14 × border tiles with minor damage (suitable for fitting along walls) Condition: The tiles have been dismantled with care. The upper surfaces and patterns are beautifully preserved. The tiles have not yet been cleaned (still contain original mortar/spec residue on the backside), which underlines the authenticity. All tiles have been individually inspected and counted. Packaging & Shipping: Careful packaging: To prevent transport damage, the tiles are bundled in groups of 7 with protective foam between them. The bundles are then securely placed in a crate with foam protection and strapped to a pallet. Delivery: Door-to-door delivery (up to the curb). The driver will not bring the pallet inside. Please ensure adequate assistance during delivery due to the heavy weight of the shipment. Security: The shipment is fully insured and sent registered with track & trace. Pick-up by arrangement is also possible. Area & Weight Calculation Tile size: 17.5 × 17.5 cm = 0.030625 m2 Weight per tile: 1.6 kg Thickness: 2 cm Totals: Intact tiles (401 pieces): 340 × Star motif (field tiles) = 10.41 m2 59 × Border motif = 1.81 m2 2 × Corner motif = 0.06 m2 Subtotal st: 12.28 m2 (approx. 642 kg) Tiles with light edge/chip damage (44 pieces): 30 × Star motif = 0.92 m2 14 × Border motif = 0.43 m2 Subtotal for cut/fit pieces: 1.35 m2 (approx. 70 kg) Total batch (445 pieces): 13.63 m2 (approx. 712 kg) Laying options & Combination tips 1. Free-standing Tile Carpet with Border (about 8.3 m2): ••• 2 3. With 58 border tiles you can lay a rectangular tile carpet of 2.80 m × 2.98 m (16 × 17 tiles in total). For this you use 210 field tiles, leaving you with well over 130 field tiles for possible extensions, niches or trimming. Combination with Modern Tiles / Wooden Floor: Because the pattern is so strong, this floor piece lends itself very well to being laid as a central 'tile carpet' in a larger space (such as a hospitality venue, central hall or open-plan kitchen) with surrounding sleek poured floors, larger modern tiles or herringbone/parquet. 3. Kitchen Island, Hospitality & Bar: Extremely suitable as a back wall, cladding of a bar/counter or as a floor accent in a vestibule, hallway or sanitary area.
