No name on the Mosel carries more mystique than Joh. Jos. Prüm, whose Wehlen estate makes Rieslings so tightly coiled in youth that they can take decades to reveal their genius, and age for half a century or more. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr, marked by its famous hillside sundial, is one of the Mosel's greatest blue-slate vineyards. 2018 was a warm, ripe German vintage. Stephan Reinhardt from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave it a rating of 95, Richard Hemming MW gave it 16.5 out of 20, and Wine Spectator reviewed it.
