ABOUT THE ARTIST Joaquín Capa (1941) is a Spanish painter and printmaker known for his lyrical abstraction and refined exploration of color, texture, and gesture. Born in Madrid, he developed a highly personal visual language in which balance, light, and materiality play a central role. Throughout his career, he combined painting with an outstanding production of graphic works, including etchings and lithographs, translating the same expressive sensitivity and compositional rigor into printmaking. His work has been exhibited extensively in Spain and abroad and is represented in numerous public and private collections. Considered one of the most respected figures of contemporary Spanish abstraction, Joaquín Capa made a significant contribution to both painting and graphic art, earning recognition for the consistency and quality of his artistic career.
