Jewellery box - Bakelite - Antique oval box

Elegant antique oval box adorned on the lid with a painted miniature depicting very likely the Château de Digoine in Palinges, in Saône-et-Loire. The scene shows the château façade with its two characteristic circular towers, viewed from the park and the pond. In the foreground stand a couple in period costume, as well as a small boat on the pond, giving the whole a romantic character typical of the 19th century. A very beautiful collectible object, decorative and refined, with a finely executed miniature and a gilded frame. Dimensions: 8.5 × 6.5 × 3 cm.
