This contemporary sculptural vessel is the work of Jennifer McCurdy, crafted from fine white bisque porcelain with a matte, unglazed finish. The form is a bulbous bowl featuring a complex, open-worked or reticulated design based on overlapping stylized leaf motifs. These foliate forms originate at a narrow, fluted base and sweep upward to create a delicate, airy structure that follows the veins and contours of the leaves. The underside of the base is signed with an incised cursive signature and retains several collection and inventory labels. These include a circular seal reading The Rubin Collection, and a light blue adhesive label marked R.A.A.C. 550 4.
