JEFE - Toy spaceship - Luna car - Spain

I am offering for sale a spectacular JEFE Luna-Car, item no. 810, a vintage large space toy manufactured in Spain and inspired by the space conquest universe. The Luna-Car is distinguished by its imposing futuristic body, its large transparent panoramic cabin, its many mechanical and electrical elements, and its various play functions. The original manual presents the Luna-Car as a: "Guided vehicle, flying propeller launcher and space exploration capsule." This copy is particularly interesting due to the combination of the vehicle, many accessories, its wired remote, the red flying propeller, its manual, and its large original illustrated box. Description of the vehicle The Luna-Car has a large gray body bearing the inscriptions "LUNA-CAR" and "JEFE". The vehicle is equipped notably with a large transparent panoramic cabin, several wheels, transparent domes with figures, an antenna/radar, various colored elements, lighting devices and various equipment inspired by space exploration. The vehicle is also accompanied by its spectacular red flying propeller system, an iconic accessory of the Luna-Car and depicted on the box illustration. A wired control allows activation of the toy’s various functions. Items included in the lot The lot includes: the JEFE Luna-Car vehicle, item no. 810; the large transparent panoramic cabin; figures and elements under the transparent domes; the exploration capsule and the various elements visible in the photographs; the antenna/radar; the red flying propeller; the wired control; the original operating manual in French; the large original illustrated box. The exact set delivered corresponds to the items visible in the photographs. Given the toy’s age, the photographs also allow precise verification of the accessories and elements present. Overall condition of the Luna-Car The vehicle shows a good general condition for its age and retains a particularly attractive presentation. The body preserves its colors, the LUNA-CAR and JEFE inscriptions, and a large number of its original elements, accessories and equipment. The transparent parts, the body and the various components show normal signs of age and use: small scratches, wear, dust, marks and superficial wear. These signs are consistent with the age of this collectible toy. The vehicle has not been restored. No disassembly of the mechanism or any repair attempts have been made in order to preserve its condition and authenticity as much as possible. Test of operation An operation test was performed with batteries. During this test, the mechanism responded when powered on. The green light came on. The red flying propeller began to spin briefly. However, the vehicle did not move during the test. These observations indicate that some electrical and mechanical functions still respond, but the overall operation of the Luna-Car is currently partial. The vehicle may require cleaning of the mechanism, a service or restoration to potentially recover all or part of its original functions. No guarantee can be given regarding the possibility of full restoration to working order. The toy is therefore sold as a vintage collectible with partial functionality. The original illustrated box The presence of the large original JEFE Luna-Car box is an important element of this set. This spectacular box retains its large retro-futuristic illustrations showing the Luna-Car exploring a lunar landscape, accompanied by astronauts and spacecraft. The illustrations, colors and main inscriptions, notably "LUNA-CAR", "JEFE" and "Article no. 810", remain visible and allow immediate identification of the model. The box shows heavy wear due to age, use and storage. It has tears, creases, wear, crushes, missing cardboard and old repairs with adhesive tape. Despite its very worn condition, its presence is still of interest to a collector. It is the original box that accompanied the toy, preserved for several decades. It serves as both a display, identification and documentary element for the Luna-Car. The box has been kept as is and has not been restored to preserve its original character. Its exact condition is clearly visible in the numerous photographs. Original operating manual The lot is accompanied by its original French operating manual "Char Lunaire - Article num. 810". The manual describes the Luna-Car’s different functions, including vehicle movement, steering, the flying propeller launch system and the space exploration capsule. It shows signs of aging, creases, handling marks and tears on some edges. Nevertheless, it remains legible and constitutes an interesting documentary supplement for this set. Interest for collectors This Luna-Car is a remarkable testimony to the golden age of space and retro-futurist toys, heavily influenced by space conquest and lunar exploration. The appeal of this example lies especially in the combination of the large vehicle, its numerous visible components, the red flying propeller, the wired control, the original manual, and the large era-illustrated box. The presence of certain signs of electrical reaction observed during the test is also valuable information for a collector wishing to keep the toy as-is or undertake a later mechanism overhaul. An imposing and highly decorative collectible piece for enthusiasts of antique toys, space toys, lunar vehicles, vintage science fiction, Spanish toys and objects related to space exploration. Important information for the buyer The toy is sold as a vintage collectible with partial functionality. The test showed the green lamp lighting up and a brief rotation of the red propeller. The vehicle did not move. No disassembly or repairs to the mechanism have been performed. Given the toy’s age, no current or future operating guarantee can be provided. The photographs are an integral part of the description. They allow precise assessment of the condition of the vehicle, its accessories, the manual and the original box.
