This work is an original color lithograph entitled "Visages et poissons" (Faces and Fish), arising from a special collaboration between the famous French artist Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) and the French painter Raymond Moretti (1931-2005). Numbered 3/10 EA. The work is in very good condition. Dimensions including frame 90.5 x 76.5 cm litho 65 x 50 cm The artwork is part of a well-known art folio named "L'âge du verseau" (The Age of Aquarius). The distinctive, flowing minimalist lines of the profiles (faces) were designed by Jean Cocteau. Raymond Moretti added his own dynamic style and color accents (such as the soft green tones). The project began as early as 1962, but was not issued until 1973 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Jean Cocteau's death. Cocteau died in 1963 before the printing process was fully completed. On the litho you can see the signatures of both artists on the plate (lower left "Jean Cocteau" with his characteristic star and lower right "Moretti"). Often these copies were later hand-signed and numbered in pencil by Moretti as well.
