Jasper Johns - Edingsville (Museum Ludwig, Köln) (XXL, Edizioni Multipla)

** RP Under 60 Euro ** Jasper Johns – Edingsville (Museum Ludwig, Cologne) A complex and layered composition by Jasper Johns, created as a multiple edition in lithography in 1987, which fully reflects the artist’s mature language. The work combines pure color fields, gestural painterly marks, and recurring iconic references – circles, bands of color, overlapping surfaces – in a calibrated balance between control and chance. The presence of primary shapes, juxtaposed with material interventions and apparently provisional signs, creates a visual tension that invites a slow, analytical reading, typical of Johns’s poetics. The dialogue between abstraction and symbolic reference remains open, leaving room for the viewer’s interpretation. The piece is tied to the Museum Ludwig collection in Cologne, one of the leading European museums for 20th-century and contemporary art. It stands out for its strong chromatic impact and its articulated structure, ideal for contemporary interiors, design spaces, professional studios, or collections oriented toward American art of the postwar period. Displayed on light or neutral walls, it becomes a focal point of great visual and cultural authority, able to dialogue with modern and minimalist furnishings without losing expressive power.
