Please consult the original photographs to verify the actual condition of the work.” This acrylic on canvas work delves into expressionist portraiture and contemporary pop art, capturing the iconic Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, through an explosion of color and texture. The composition centers the gaze on the musician’s penetrating face, whose features are built through thick, gestural brushstrokes that combine warm hues such as yellows, oranges and reds with cool tones in blue and green. The hair, treated in an abstract and untamed way, expands in the pictorial space blending with a background of pronounced paint splatters (action painting), conveying the electrifying energy, rebellion, and legendary spirit of rock culture.
