Reverse: 一錢. - Grading: MS65 RB (NGC). 1 Sen coin minted during the fourth year of the Taishō era. The obverse features the characteristic Radiant Sun in the center, surrounded by the inscription with the country name, the date in Japanese characters, and the face value in the Latin alphabet. The reverse shows the character 「錢」 crowned by the numeral 「一」, surrounded by an elegant laurel and paulownia wreath tied with a bow at the top, symbolizing prosperity and imperial authority. The specimen retains its original attractive red-brown color typical of the RB designation, with abundant mint luster, sharp relief, and well-preserved fields, in line with the MS65 grade. This issue belongs to the first stage of Emperor Taishō’s reign, a period of modernization and economic development in Japan, and is one of the most representative copper denominations of the early 20th-century Japanese coinage series.
