Jan Henderikse - Original Ink Drawing 2021 This original ink drawing by Jan Henderikse from the year 2021 is signed in pencil in the bottom right and dated. Variations in the density and absorption of the ink give the work a pronounced material depth as well as a lively, organic character. The visible interplay of ink and paper emphasizes the immediate, handcrafted creative process, which is particularly characteristic of Henderikse's work. Note: This is an original ink drawing on heavy paper. Due to the moisture effect of the ink, the paper is not completely flat, which is material- and process-related and underscores the authentic character of the work. The work is mounted in suspension on canvas, in a high-quality, custom-made Plexiglas case, which provides optimal protection and strikingly showcases the intense luminosity of the colors. External dimensions of the Plexiglas case: approx. 51 x 66 cm Jan Henderikse (born 1937) is a significant representative of the Dutch Nul movement as well as the international ZERO network. His oeuvre is characterized by serial structures, material experiments, and the aesthetics of the everyday. During his long stay in New York, Henderikse developed an international artistic position in which European avant-garde and American minimalist influences come together. Works by Jan Henderikse are in major collections, including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Centraal Museum Utrecht, as well as numerous international museums and private collections.
