Vintage pendulum scale, produced by the historic German company Jakob Maul (often identified by the brand JMAZ) in Zell, Germany. See the mark stamped on the frame. This specific model dates back to the first half of the 20th century. 1920-1940 • It was mainly used in post offices or on private desks to calculate the correct postage for letters and small packages. • Mechanism: It uses a mechanical counterweight (pendulum) system. When you place an object on the upper pan, the frame oscillates moving the indicator along the graduated scale. • Dial: The arc scale is expressed in Grams (up to a maximum of 250g) and bears various era tariff bands printed directly on paper or metal to facilitate calculating the shipping cost. • The three-foot base and the oscillating arm are made of solid black-painted cast iron, paired with functional brass elements. In almost perfect condition. Working and not handled. Whole item. Careful packing and tracked shipping
