Jack Gage - Balance in red

Jack Gage – Balance in Red Jack Gage is an American painter whose work primarily explores the human figure through a precise and stylised approach. His artistic universe focuses on form, volume and contrast, with a sensitivity influenced by Pop aesthetics and contemporary geometric compositions. This work, entitled “Balance in Red”, depicts a seated female figure entirely covered in a geometric red-and-white pattern. Her calm, introspective posture contrasts with the visual strength of the pattern structuring the entire silhouette. The figure stands out against a background composed of large red, white and brown shapes. The black lines defining the pattern and the contours of the figure reinforce the structure of the composition, while the intense red creates a striking contrast with the lighter surfaces. The work highlights Jack Gage’s interest in the human figure, simplified forms and strongly structured compositions, while retaining an elegant and contemporary quality.
