ITRE – Made in Italy - Wall sconce (2) - Flying Saucers - Murano glass

Spectacular pair of vintage ITRE wall lamps Made in Italy, crafted with large Murano glass discs and attributed to the design of Carlo Nason. Their strong Space Age look, with the large circular glass disc decorated by a yellow-amber spiral and the central domed and reflective element, immediately evokes the shape of a flying saucer, a designation often used in vintage design collecting for lamps of this type. The effect is particularly dramatic: the glass creates a concentric optical movement while the central golden surface reflects the surroundings, giving the wall lamps a futuristic character typical of 1970s Italian design. Both pieces retain the original labels “ITRE Made in Italy” and “Vetri Murano,” an important element for documenting production and provenance. A true Italian Space Age pair, highly decorative even when off and particularly interesting because it is preserved complete and matched. Normal signs of wear, scratches and oxidation on the metal parts, visible in the photographs. Glass appears to be intact. Electrical system should be checked before use.
