Italy - Sardinia; sconosciuto - Carta Itineraria...

Rare and interesting road and administrative map titled 'Carta Itineraria dell'Isola di Sardegna', published in Rome in 1892 by the Istituto Cartografico Italiano and distributed in Cagliari by Pietro Valdes. It is a standalone monographic publication (not from a book or atlas), originally printed as a single sheet at a scale of 1:500,000 and designed to be folded. The work preserves its very rare original external editorial binding in light cardboard ('Carta Generale della Sardegna'), which has protected the map over the years, leaving the sheet margins intact and never trimmed. Cartographer not mentioned, as is customary for editions of this institute. Dimensions 67 x 49 cm Will be shipped by courier.
