Silver coin of 120 Grana, minted in Naples in 1853 during the reign of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, monarch of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. The obverse presents an elegant portrait of the sovereign looking to the right, with wavy hair and a short beard, executed in a neoclassical style of notable realism and artistic precision. The Latin legend surrounds the bust and the date appears at the bottom. The reverse shows the grand dynastic coat of arms of the Bourbons of the Two Sicilies, crowned and composed of various heraldic quarters representing the territories and historic titles of the monarchy, accompanied by the denomination G. 120. The piece shows an attractive silvery tone, with slight natural patina hues, well-defined reliefs and bright fields. Some lines and superficial marks are visible, especially on the reverse, but they do not prevent appreciating the quality of the engraving and the richness of its heraldic details. A representative piece of Italian numismatics prior to unification, issued during one of the most significant periods in the history of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
