Description of the Lot (Scripophilic Technical Sheet) * Issuer: FIAT – Società per Azioni, with registered office in Turin. * Lot subject: Multiples nominative paper stock certificate for 2 Ordinary Shares, with a nominal value of Lire 500 each (at the time of original issue). * Registered holder: the security is registered in the name of Parlato Giuseppe, born in Naples on 29/08/08, residing in Naples at Via De Gasperi 55. * Serial/Certificate Number: No. 258007 (also shown by barcode and punch marks on the coupons). * Issue Date: 29 October 1984 (29/10/84). * Corporate data and capital: Constitution dated 1 March 1906 (deed of Torretta), registered with the Registry of the Civil and Penal Court of Turin under no. 65/906. Paid-in share capital indicated at the center: Lire 337.5 billion (divided into 450 million ordinary shares and 225 million preferred shares, each with a nominal value of Lire 500). * Capital Updates (Stamp/Bottom Foot): The certificate contains the official extension at the bottom documenting the capital increase approved by the shareholders’ meeting on 3/7/1984: "Capital increased to Lire 2025 billion; 1350 million ordinary shares and 675 million preferred shares of nominal Lire 1000 each". * Graphics and Security: Honeycomb-like light blue–green and gray geometric background (printed by Officine Carte Valori Turati Lombardi e C. - Milan). Mechanically punched numeric windows showing the share amount (**2**). * Signatures: Facsimile signature of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Giovanni Agnelli. * Related Elements (Coupons and Back): * The lot includes the original coupon sheet (numbers 8 through 20) coordinated. All coupons and the central body bear obvious circular black cancellation holes (a sign that the security was formally changed, registered, or dematerialized in the past by the banking institution, losing its original financial value). * The back of the certificate is blank, prepared with numbered boxes from 1 to 10 for the coupons, with no additional annotations. * Condition: Very good / Excellent (VF/XF). Well-preserved paper, with no tears or fissures, regular storage creases and clean perforation holes. Historical Value and Economic Context Compared with the savings certificate of 1987 seen earlier, this 1984 title has several historically and financially interesting peculiarities for collectors: * The Nature of Ordinary Shares: Unlike savings shares, Ordinary Shares represented the true essence of corporate ownership. This certificate gave Mr. Parlato full voting rights at FIAT’s historic Turin meetings. It shows that FIAT’s broad shareholder base was not composed only of large financial institutions, but also small private savers from Central-South Italy who invested tiny stakes (in this case, a certificate of only two shares). * The Major Reorganization and Capital Increase of 1984: This document perfectly captures a turning point in FIAT’s finances. The printed addendum on the lower margin testifies to the regrouping and doubling of nominal value (shares rising from 500 to 1,000 Lire each) approved in the summer of 1984. This served to straighten the group’s capital structure, which leapt from 337.5 billion to the monstrous 2,025 billion Lire, preparing FIAT for large-scale industrial investments in the late 1980s. * The Value of Cancellation Holes: In scripophily, the presence of geometric holes (accounting perforations) is the physical proof of the title’s history: it tells the moment when the saver handed over the paper piece to the bank to participate in subsequent electronic conversions or to liquidate it. While the cancellation nullifies any financial recourse, it guarantees the collector the total legitimacy and the historical traceability of the piece. * The Iconography of Gianni Agnelli: Here too, the signature of Gianni Agnelli on the front serves as a visual focal point of the document, linking the object to the era when the head of the automotive royal family was at the peak of national political and economic influence. Current Collectors’ Market Value In the scripophily market, nominative and perforated FIAT titles from the 1980s are somewhat more widespread than intact bearer certificates, but the note of capital increase to 2,025 billion adds a valuable documentary detail. Excellent historical value for Scripophily Stored in A4 PVC envelopes. Good conservation.
