Italian school (XX) - Memento Mori

Beautiful painting titled “Memento Mori,” made in oil on a plywood board, probably in the mid-20th century, from ecclesiastical settings in Salento (Southern Italy). It is signed (Zollino) and comes with a dark wooden frame. The indicated measurements refer to the work plus the frame; the painting alone is 17 x 29 cm. On the left is a rose, in the center a skull and a pearl, and on the right a lit candle that illuminates the scene, symbols that remind man of the brevity of life and his inevitable end. The quality of the painting is very high, with exceptional rendering of light, as you can see from the photos. Attention, the work shows the inevitable signs of time, but no serious damage that would spoil its beauty. Fast and secure shipping.
