Patinated Measurements: 54 x 64; 39 x 30. Framed: out of the frame. On the back it is barely legible ‘per autentica’ — Enzo Corpora The work depicts a suggestive and intimate rural interior scene. In the center of the painting, three mottled goats, portrayed with notable sensitivity and anatomical realism, rest on a bed of straw inside a stable. The dark background, enriched by rustic elements such as a large terracotta jug and an overturned wicker basket, contrasts with and highlights the brightness of the animals’ coats, recalling the fruitful tradition of European animal painting around the 19th-20th century.
