Italian School (c. 1970) - Venice

- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. - This enigmatic view of Venice deeply resonates with the tenets of Metaphysical painting by stripping the city of its usual tourist bustle and turning it into a theatrical stage with dreamlike resonances. Through a markedly exaggerated perspective, sharp shadows, and a palette dominated by desert ochres and strident yellows, the urban architecture becomes a static, silent space. The motionless canals and the tower rising like a solitary monolith evoke the desolation and timeless mystery characteristic of Giorgio de Chirico, inviting the viewer to contemplate the city of canals not as a real place, but as a vision frozen on the threshold of the subconscious. - Unframed image dimensions: 98 x 49 cm / 101 x 52 cm with exclusive custom frame. Thus, we guarantee that every work that leaves our gallery is a unique piece in the world, without any replica, and a reflection of the innovation and passion of the artists we work with. Certain lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit issued by the Ministry of Culture. Although this is an administrative procedure, it is essential to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free international circulation. Montbaron Gallery is committed to offering its clients original, unique, and unrepeatable artworks, guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of each piece in our collection. The Certificate of Guarantee includes complete details about the piece, such as its author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Certificate of Guarantee will be issued upon the client’s request, providing an official reference for the acquired piece.
