The cotton sash is warp ikat, resist-dyed in red, cream, and charcoal with lozenge and hooked motifs, and finished with a fringe. The bilum is vegetal fibers using the looped string technique typical of Papua New Guinea, where such bags serve as everyday carriers and markers of clan and regional identity. Item # 203716
