INDIA Dhodro banam (sarangi), carved from wood, with a rectangular soundbox covered in leather and topped by a square soundhole; the neck is crowned with two human heads. The sides are engraved with rosettes, and the back features a foliage motif. H. 69 cm. Base. Formerly in the collection of François Boulanger and Françoise Bouhière.
