Very LARGE old icon depicting the Archangel Michael from the 20th century. Hand-painted with egg tempera paints or oil on a very heavy and sturdy wooden panel (see photos). The icon was entirely handmade, following the usual methods of icon painting. It was painted with the greatest possible fidelity to the model. The icon was produced in Eastern Europe, presumably in Romania, in the 1980s-1990s. A truly striking and extraordinary icon, with quite detailed painting (see photos). Perfectly coordinated color contrasts and successful shading. Particularly striking is the face and the robes of the Holy Archangel Michael. The icon is inscribed; the inscription is clearly legible. The icon is in good condition with typical aging wear (see photos). The painting contains very beautiful and authentic age-related craquelure (see photos). Heavy and sturdy wooden panel. A unique icon from the past century. All details are clearly visible in the photos. The photos are part of the description. Dimensions: 81x43x4 cm
