All auctions / Coins & Banknotes / Hungary. Denar ND XIII cent. (No reserve price)

Origin / Place of It has been confirmed that this is a silver Hungarian Denar (Dénár) from the reign of Béla IV (1235–1270) of the Árpád dynasty of the Kingdom of Hungary. Reverse Side (New Image): On this side, stylized cross and star/crescent motifs are visible, along with an inscription characteristic of the minting techniques of the era. Obverse Side (First Image): This side features the king—either seated on a throne or depicted on horseback—reflecting the common "Rex Béla" theme found in Hungarian numismatics. Bearing witness to the era of the Mongol invasion, these silver coins played a significant role in medieval European trade.: Hungarian denar
