Human figure, Dogon, Mali, 19th-20th centuries

Descriptio Wrought iron. Measures: 26 cm high. Stylized human figure made of wrought iron, with a marked verticality and pronounced formal simplification. It features an elongated head with schematic facial features, a narrow torso, arms curved alongside the body, and long lower limbs ending in flat feet. The execution maintains a synthetic and expressive character, typical of the Dogon metalworking tradition. The surface retains a dark patina, oxidation, and irregular wear consistent with the nature of hand-worked iron and its age. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
