The structure is meticulously hand-formed using traditional red clay native to San Felipe Pueblo. The exterior is coated in layers of orange micaceous slip and intricately burnished to create an even, metallic sparkle. This piece represents the hallmark "melon swirl" style heavily influenced by traditional Santa Clara carving styles, adapted into a distinctive modern aesthetic.
