Houten tabakspot met contrasterend blokkenpatroon – warme...

Wooden tobacco jar with contrasting block pattern – warm wood tones and an elegant lid A tobacco jar where the wood itself takes center stage! This round piece combines honey-colored, reddish-brown, and dark striped wood pieces into a lively geometric pattern. The varying grain patterns make every side worth looking at. Around the cylindrical body lie rectangular wood fields in two offset rows. The rhythm of light and dark surfaces gives the jar a striking appearance, while the profiled top and bottom edges nicely frame the whole. The removable lid features a raised round central section with a dark brown, turned knob. The circular forms and warm sheen provide a pleasing contrast to the strict block pattern. The decoration evokes parquetry, internationally known as parquetry: geometric patterns assembled from contrasting wood parts or veneers. The exact construction and wood species used for this piece have not been established. (lapada.org) An attractive collectible for lovers of wooden utensils and smoking accessories. Also as a decorative lidded box this tobacco jar looks wonderful on a desk, in a library, or on a sideboard.
