Horikawa - Tin toy - Battery Operated Fighting Robot, Boxed - Japan

Rare vintage Japanese fighting robot “Fighting Robot”, manufactured by S.H. Horikawa in Japan in the 1960s. Large metal/tin mechanical robot with translucent plastic elements. Battery-powered (2 × 1.5 V). The mechanism includes the robot’s walking action, movable arms, antennas, as well as the firing mechanism visible behind the transparent face. Copy preserved with its original illustrated box “Battery Operated Fighting Robot – S.H. Made in Japan”, which has become difficult to find with the toy. Vintage condition with visible signs of age and use in the photographs. The box shows significant wear, creases, tears and losses related to its age. Works, period box. Beautiful example of a 1960s Japanese space robot, representative of the golden age of Japanese mechanical toys.
