A stunning original drawing by Herman Brood from 1984, the year he seriously began his visual art in the CoBrA tradition. His first art exhibition that year was held together with Jules Deelder, at Galerie Van Der Have on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam (later known as the Torch Gallery). During this exhibition, Herman Brood mainly showed drawings made with markers, paint, and his trademark Tipp-Ex to whiten over areas. This drawing may also have been shown at that exhibition! The drawing is made on the back of a poster edition of an etching from his book that appeared in 1984, 'Stil daar is ie...'. At the time, Herman Brood drew on material he had at hand, such as the backs of his advertising posters. 1984 was a very important year for Herman Brood, his first art exhibition and the big hit with Henny Vrienten 'Als je Wint'! The provenance of this drawing is from Danny Lademacher, the guitarist of the band Wild Romance, who previously owned this work.
