Heinrich Stegemann (1888–1945). "Sonne, Wolken", ca. 1920. Woodcut. Sheet size: 50 x 65 cm. With wet stamps on the reverse. Griffelkunst-Vereiniging Hamburg (catalog: 281-B6), 1996. Printed from the original 1920s woodblocks, which were part of the Expressionist artist's estate held by the Städtisches Museum Flensburg. Very well preserved, except for a crease in one corner of the paper (photograph of the defect taken against the light). Stegemann faced severe persecution following the rise of National Socialism. In 1936, authorities shut down an exhibition in which he was participating alongside the Hamburg avant-garde. Between 1937 and 1938, the Nazi regime confiscated 43 of his artworks, officially labeling them "degenerate art" (*Entartete Kunst*). Professional packaging with all security measures. Fast shipping with UPS, CORREOS or SEUR (mainly with these companies) and with a permanent tracking number. Although it does not appear in the description, combined shipping is possible, adjusting the price of shipping and returning the remaining amount. Important: we pay taxes. If you wish to send an invoice, please tell us so that we can include it in the package. Thanks.
