Offered here is another distinct rarity from Connecticut dating the early 1860s. This evenly circulated, but imperfect $20 Obsolete issued by the Merchants & Manufacturers Bank of Hartford offers not only great eye appeal and color, but also extant penned signatures attributable to Cashier James Seymour Tryon and an unidentified President while a number of crude rounded POCs may be observed. This institution ultimately became the First National Bank of Hartford (Charter# 121) in 1864. PCGS Currency comments "Hole Punch Cancelled; Small Edge Tear at Bottom; Pinholes."
