Harrach/Moser - Vase - Proud (35 cm) flaring cup with smoky-colored finish

Antique Bohemian Harrach/Moser type Art Glass Vase with Jeweled Enamel Decoration (Late 19th Century) This exquisite Bohemian glass vase is a superb example of the luxurious artistry developed in the Czech region during the Historicism period (circa 1880-1900). It embodies the opulent, hand-decorated style often associated with world-renowned workshops such as Moser and Harrach. The Piece: The vase features an elegant, slender trumpet form, transitioning gracefully from brilliant, clear glass at the rim to a warm, evocative smoky amber color towards the flared base. The Decoration: The spectacular decoration is a hallmark of high-quality Bohemian production: Polychrome Enameling: The piece is intricately hand-painted with vibrant, multi-colored enamels, featuring delicate sprays of red and yellow roses with green foliage adorning the sides and base. The Cartouche: A prominent, symmetrical central motif—a stylized cartouche or quatrefoil—is executed in rich, raised metallic and green-toned enamel. This central design contains a cluster of small, delicately painted blue and white blossoms, likely forget-me-nots. Applied Jeweling: The most captivating feature is the liberal application of small, raised white glass beads, or prunts, which meticulously outline the main motif and form elegant vertical strings. This "jeweled" effect adds extraordinary texture and dimensionality to the piece. This glass artistry represents the finest in late 19th-century Continental decorative arts, perfect for a discerning collector of antique European glass. Shipping and Guarantee: This fragile antique will be professionally packaged with the utmost care, utilizing museum-quality materials to ensure its protection during transit.
