This expressive handwoven Afghan Kilim from Pakistan captivates with its intense color variety and the traditional geometric design. With a size of approx. 239 × 176 cm, it is a decorative piece that combines a classic oriental character with a modern, colorful effect. The center is defined by three large diamond-shaped medallions that clearly stand out from the dark, almost black background. Numerous smaller geometric symbols and stylized ornaments fill the surface and give the Kilim its lively, richly detailed appearance. Especially appealing is the strong contrast between the dark inner field and the light cream-colored borders. The surrounding patterns in red, turquoise, blue, green, pink, orange, yellow and violet create an extraordinary color effect and underscore the rug’s handcrafted character.
