The piece is distinguished by the shape of its wavy, contoured edges and by the rich lid decoration, featuring refined scroll and laurel motifs in gold on a burl wood-effect background in amber-brown tones. The edges and base have a gold-finished raised relief with punched details typical of Italian artisanal craftsmanship of the era.
